Although Marla did not begin painting in her
youth, after her children
were grown, she began to experiment with painting.
She was always fascinated by the beautiful
landscapes that surrounded her, and was especially drawn to the
beautiful cloud formations that are so common in Arizona.
As a result of her fascination of clouds, she began painting
landscapes with clouds, sunsets and sunrises.
This subject matter dominated her work for many years.
Although she continues to do landscapes both in the studio, and
in plein-air, she now includes other subjects as well.
Marla has now expanded further, with plein air
painting being an important part of her training as well as workshops
when time permits.
Marla
gathers much of her material on the small ranch that she and her husband
own and operate Northwest of Prescott.
The country and terrain is well-suited to the Corriente cattle
they raise.
Marla is thankful for those who have shared the
gift God has given her through the support, purchase, or representation
of her work.
